About Louise

Louise is a Partner and Head of Commercial Property at Awdry Law.

She is an experienced solicitor specialising in commercial lettings, commercial property disposals and acquisitions and commercial property finance.

The types of matters Louise regularly deals with include, but are not limited to, commercial leases for both landlords and tenants, the sale of commercial property, the acquisition of commercial property and finance of commercial property. Louise is experienced in acting for clients who hold a property portfolio as well as acting for owner/occupiers in the acquisition of their commercial premises. Louise acts for borrowers on secured lending and refinancing and also has experience in acting for insolvency practitioners in the sale of distressed property or those buying from the insolvency practitioners.

Louise qualified in 2007 and is based at the firm’s Marlborough office, acting for clients across Wiltshire, Bath and the wider South West.

  • Sale and acquisition of owner/occupier commercial premises and investment property across retail, care, industrial and leisure sectors
  • Sale and disposal of mixed use premises and multi let premises
  • Acting for landlords and tenants on the grant, assignment and renewal of leases
  • Acting for landlord clients in management of their portfolio to include licences and lease surrenders
  • Acting for borrowers on secured lending and refinancing
  • Acting for insolvency practitioners on distressed property sales
  • Acting for pension fund providers in sales and acquisitions and general management of their property portfolio
  • Resolving title defects, unregistered land and registration requirements at HM Land Registry


Examples of Louise’s work

  • Acting on the share sale of a property company untangling multiple title, tenancy and registration defects across the portfolio so the corporate transaction could complete to timetable
  • Managing the property portfolio of a well-known national retailer, including new lettings, lease renewals and assignments
  • Acting for a care home operator on the disposal of its property portfolio and coordinating lender releases
  • Acquiring multiple mixed-use properties for a local developer, including advising on existing tenancies
  • Acting for a landlord in the grant of a high value lease together with all ancillary documents. This included proposing and advising on various commercial solutions to ensure that the matter proceeded to completion.

  • Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, 2007
  • 2:1 Law Degree, University of West of England
  • Distinction in LPC, Bournemouth University
