Awdry Law taking the lead with new one couple, one lawyer approach to divorce…

We are taking the lead in Wiltshire and are offering a one couple, one lawyer approach to divorce, meaning that those going through separation can work with one lawyer to come to a resolution together.

The innovative new model, known as Resolution Together, developed by Resolution (a community of Family Justice Professionals) provides a new approach to help separating couples jointly and reduce unnecessary conflict between individuals to the benefit of all those involved.

Cindy Ervine, Head of Divorce Law here at Awdry Law commented “Our Divorce Law team are committed to continually exploring new ways of working that can benefit our clients. Divorce isn’t a one size fits all process and what works for one separating couple, may not work for another. We are proud to offer tailored, personal legal advice to all our clients, and offering a one couple, one lawyer approach means our clients have more options and choice throughout the divorce process.”

“Traditionally, legal advice throughout a divorce is provided with two separate lawyers, and although this is still an option, for some couples this can cause unwanted and drawn-out conflict. The key difference with this new approach is that it avoids unwanted conflict and allows you to focus on the best interests of the whole family, with legal costs being shared between you both. “

“This approach won’t work for everyone and there is extensive safeguarding in place for both parties. We seek to gain an understanding of you both as individuals, discuss what you are hoping to achieve and ensure that it is appropriate and safe for you to use this way of working.”

“If you are going through separation and think that this could be the approach for you, we offer free, initial meetings with clients at our offices in Chippenham, Devizes, Marlborough, Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon, allowing us to get to know each other, advise you of your options and outline the best way to move forward.”
